Hi how do u get the colour black for the icing. Is it buttercream icing?

percicilan: yes it’s buttercream so it’s very sweet. heh. i used almost one whole bottle of black paste. my sister said her friends’ tongues all got purplish. haha.

black paste is like black colouring? Or if I go to any bakery supply shop they know what black paste is ?

yeah i mean black colouring but in gel/paste form. it’s more potent than liquid colouring. thanks, but there’s still much much room for improvement. 🙂

If you aren’t purposely staying away from chocolate you can cut way back on the amount of black food coloring by getting a rich dark chocolate icing first using cocoa powder and then adding a little bit of the black food color. So much faster & easier. Learned that after I made several penguin sugar cookies.

I tried making buttercream icing and it is too sweet to swallow.
Is there any other ways I can make cupcake icing which is not too sweet?
