Birthday Cupcakes

February 25, 2007 at 11:07 pm | Posted in Birthdays, Chocolate, Cupcakes | 8 Comments

this set was for a very dear friend. they were chocolate cupcakes with mocha ganache and buttercream. i found that the ganache was a bit too bittersweet, so i hope the buttercream will level things off.

  6. hello bernice and laydiefa, thank you for your comments! actually for the coloured buttercream, i don’t use any recipe. it’s just a mixture of icing sugar and butter… whip the butter and keep on adding icing sugar until you reach that desired sweetness/consistency. it’s very sweet, so this is recommended for small amounts on top of each cupcake. oh, and you can add vanilla essence if you like. it’s really trial-and-error. πŸ™‚

and bernice, those hearts i bought at a bakery shop at tanjong katong complex.
