cocoa brownie-cake
November 19, 2006 at 10:20 pm | Posted in Chocolate, Slices | 10 Commentsthis is a brownie-cake i made for the boy. i used chitz’s (tastegoblet’s) recipe, with a couple of modifications. i omitted the nuts and used 1 cup of dark chocolate couverture bits and 1 cup of chopped cadbury old gold (70%) chocolate.
and those lines are from the good morrow by john donne. we came across his works during the JC2 literature days, and it’s one of my favourites. i remember him memorising it during his NS days and reciting it to me one day over coffee at starbucks. π

yd: haha thanks! it looks funny la though… have to practise my writing-on-cake skills. (or the lack of it)
celeste: hello! most of my decors i just get it from supermarkets, many chocs/sweets can make good decors! π for the cake boards/boxes, go to phoon huat. google it and look at the list of branches. i’m sure there’ll be one near you. i’m going to melbourne next year, (i was there last year, it’s such a beautiful place) can you recommend me a baking supplies shop? prob somewhere near the city. i’m gonna get whatever i can’t find here!

heh the first time i stepped foot into that store, i just stood there amazed at how much they managed to cram into that tiny store. it would help if you work out exactly what you want coz its hard to sift through everything they offer and would take ages too. im sure you’ll have tons of fun here, melbourne’s a fantastic place! =)

I’ve tried writing on cakes before and I know what a PAIN it is! Don’t worry, it looks good π
